Abstract

This observational study was conducted upon 269 patients with closed head injuries who were admitted to Neurosurgery department, Emergency Trauma Hospital a level-1 trauma center and part of Tanta University Hospitals Medical Complex (Gharbia governorate of Egypt) in the period between September 2020 to September 2021. Closed-head injury is defined as non-penetrating head injury in which the skull and dura mater remain intact. TBIs may result in lifelong neurological impairment and, therefore, are of utmost concern with regards to public health. Closed-head injuries mainly result from motor vehicular accidents, falls, domestic violence, assaults, and sports injuries.
