Abstract Kidney is a vital organ in our body performing several functions.Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) is a syndrome characterized by sudden and rapid deterioration of renal function together with the accumulation of waste products such as urea. It represents 1–7% of all hospital admissions and 1– 25%of intensive care unit admissions.AKI is a common condition which has a great economic burden on the society. The usual standard techniques of therapy as dialysis and renal transplantation have no significant impact on overall mortality, so, there is a need to develop new pharmacological therapies to overcome this problem. |
