Abstract This clinical study was conducted to compare the effect on Periodontal health of the abutment teeth between two groups of RPDs, one made of conventional cobalt chromium and the other of injectable BioHPP. The two groups are representing Kennedy class I were fabricated with the second premolar as the last abutment, where the first and second premolars bilaterally were natural teeth. 1ry impressions were made and the resulting study casts were surveyed and mouth preparation lists were made. The RPI design were made for both groups, intraoral try in of both types of frameworks were made, then the RPDs where delivered . The Periotest device was used to assess the periodontal health of the abutment teeth at time of delivery and after one and three months. The results revealed that in the control group, there was statistically insignificant increase in abutment teeth mobility between 0 month and 1 month, and also between 1 months and 3 months. For the intervention group, there was statistically insignificant increase in abutment teeth mobility between 0 month and 1 months, and between 1 month and 3 months. Comparing the two groups together, there was statistically insignificant difference between them, where the cobalt chromium RPDsoffered higher degree of abutment mobility in all follow up time periods. |
