Abstract

WON-X oil field (the study area) is located in East Beni Suef Ext. II concession, Beni
Suef basin, Northern Western, Egypt between latitudes 28° 57` 00``N - 28° 59` 00``N and
longitudes 30° 53` 00``E- 30° 56` 00``E occupying a current area of 17.99 square kilometers
(4446 acre). from structural to petrophysical studies were conducted for full understanding of
the nature of the producible reservoirs in the WON-X oil field.
The seismic interpretation was conducted on the twenty seismic lines pass-through four
wells that concerned the study area. Five Horizons were picked in the study area; Upper
Bahariya, Abu Roash ”G”, Abu Roash ”F” and Abu Roash ”C” in addition to Base Channel of
old ancestral Nile. from depth structure maps an elongated asymmetrical double plunging
anticlinal has an axis of NNE-SSW trend with a steep dip value in the eastern part and a gentle
dip in the western part of the study area. The principal structure responsible for hydrocarbon
entrapment in the study area was a structural high which corresponds to the crest of an
asymmetrical double plunging anticlinal structure of WON-X oil field. Although the structural
study was not adequate to resolve the necessary details to identify the specific types of
stratigraphic surfaces, but it was the building block for conducting the 3D reservoir model, The
penetrated Formation tops in WON-X wells were used for tying with the modeled horizons in
order for getting a most reliable 3D structural model.
