Abstract A total number of 205 farmed live different fish species (130 Nile tilapia and 75 common carp), were collected from different farms in Egypt; some of them showed signs of abnormalities. They were subjected to clinical examination and postmortem examination. Isolation and morphological identification of bacterial isolates were done. Regarding to the result of morphological and haemolytic characteristics biochemical identification of isolates by fully automated identification and antibiotic sensitivity testing ID&AST System were done. Regarding the samples identified as streptococci by Automated ID&AST System some samples confirmed by PCR to 16 sr RNA gene for streptococci and Enterococci. A total number of 120 clinically healthy O. niloticus with an average body weight 45±5 gm collected from the Fish Research Unit at Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Zagazig University and acclimatized to laboratory condition for 2 weeks and divided were used for studying the pathogenicity of the isolated microorganisms including clinical signs, postmortem findings, and histopathological examination of the infected organs. |
