Abstract Breast deformities in post-bariatric surgery (post-BS) patients are different and more challenging than those from non-BS patients. Management of the breast following massive weight loss is done for both reconstructive and aesthetic reasons. Many articles focused on improve shape ways, projection, and long-term results. The present meta-analysis aimed to address the aesthetically undesirable effects of massive weight loss following bariatric surgery on the size, shape, and contour of the female breast. Results of the present meta- analysis showed no major complications were recorded. All the patients were satisfied with their post-operative unclothed and clothed appearance and overall body image. There was higher satisfaction with breasts, psychosocial, sexual, and physical well-being compared to preoperative. The most common individual complications were tissue-related, specifically, recurrent ptosis and breast or nipple asymmetry, with rates of 5.20 % and 2.94 %, respectively. Poor/hypertrophic scarring occurred at a pooled rate of 3.74 %. Keywords: |
