Abstract Acute appendicitis (AA) is among the most common causes of acute abdominal pain. Diagnosis of AA is still challenging and some controversies on its management are still present among different settings and practice patterns worldwide The purpose of our study was to test the added value of duplex Doppler examination to the routinely graded compression grayscale US for the patients with suspected acute appendicitis in correlation with surgical management outcomes. In the current report, a total of 84 patients with the visualized color flow in the appendicular US were enrolled 60 (71.4%) patients had appendicitis with mean age 22.95 ± 9.64 years ranging from 6–43 years, while 24 (28.6%) patients did not have appendicitis with mean age 17.92 ± 11.82 years ranging between 4–62 years. |
