Abstract Hormonal contraceptive methods are often used by women to prevent pregnancies or diminish menstrual symptoms. Successful fertility control engenders many social and economic benefits for women, such as better education and personal autonomy. It was documented negative effects on mood and psychological well-being as a consequence of hormonal contraception use in women. Women using hormonal contraception exhibited more symptoms of borderline personality disorder Nowadays quality of life is perceived by policy makers in socio-economic and hygienic areas to increase cost/benefit advantage through improving it. The hormonal contraception is the most common and popular contraceptives in many parts of the world. Women’s choice, compliance and satisfaction with specific contraceptive methods are influenced by any impact of the method on their quality of life and sexual function. The aim of work of the current study was to estimate the prevalence of hormonal methods of contraceptives among contraceptive users in ladies attending outpatient clinics of gynecology department in Mansoura university hospitals. To elucidate this aim 400 females attending antenatal care were included in the current study. In the studied group, 49.8% aged 30-39 years ,61.2% rural residence, median duration of marriage was 12 years ranging from 2 to 35 years,84% have children less than or equal to 3 with 60.5% had technical education and 76.5% were unemployed. |
