Abstract Introduction: Good quality care in Family Planning (FP) services helps individuals and couples to meet their reproductive health needs safely and effectively. Therefore, continuous assessment and improvement of the quality of FP services could enhance FP services utilization and outcomes. Aim of the study: This study aimed to evaluate FP services in maternal and child health care centers in Mansoura city. Subjects and methods: The study was carried out at fifty-six available maternal and child health care centers in Mansoura city. The study subjects included a convenience sample of health care providers at the studied FP services during data collection time. Data were collected through A clinic Self-Assessment tool for the provision of high-quality contraception services. Results: The results of the present study highlighted that none of the studied FP services had high total quality care level where 80.4% of them had low level of the total quality care. Services were provided in a timely manner with high cost and the level of counseling was inadequate. Recommendations: Urgent need for numerous quality enhancement measures to promote all quality elements in the studied maternal and child health centers. In addition to, emphasizing client’s satisfaction as a high priority for better outcomes. |
