Abstract
Water is very important for human life.It keeps body humidity so, it regulates its temperature , maintaining healthy skin , It protects some parts of the body from damage or inflammation. Fresh water , pollution constitutes inorganic and organic pollutants .Phenol ,is a global problem ,that has to be researched ,through an inexpensive and practical way to remove these pollutants.Phenol is one of the most dangerous organic pollutants ,due to its entry into many industries such as: paper, cosmetics, plastics ,and cement .... etc. Therefore, this research is concerned with removing phenol from Nile River in Damietta Governorate using activated carbon, bentonite, and then modified bentonite.
The thesis is divided into four parts:
The first part: It is for the introduction ,and knowledge of the different causes of pollution .
The second part: It is specific to the literature survey about the removing of phenol using different materials.
The third part: It is concerned with the practical methods used.
The fourth part: It is concerned with the results and discussion, where the materials used ,were characterized by different analysis methods IR, BET methods.
