Abstract Aim: to evaluate bovine tutobone in the treatment of periodontal infrabony pockets.Materials and Methods: twenty infrabony defects in patients with chronic periodontitis who had received initial periodontal therapy and had intrabony defects of ≥ 3 mm in depth were enrolled. Randomly, using the sealed envelope technique, half of defects were treated with open flap debridement only and the others were treated with bovine tutobone microchips after debridement of defects. Clinical parameters were evaluated at baseline, 3 and 6 months postoperatively. Cone beam computed tomographs were taken at baseline and 6 months post therapy. |
