Research Problem:
The research problem was identified in children’s lack of awareness of medication and health habits.
Research Questions:
The current research answered the following questions:
1) What is the effectiveness of implementing an enrichment program in health education using behavior maps on developing drug awareness among kindergarten children?
2) What is the effectiveness of implementing an enrichment program in health education using behavior maps on developing healthy habits for kindergarten children?
3) What are the dimensions of drug awareness appropriate for children of the second level of kindergarten?
4) What are the areas of appropriate healthy habits for children of the second level of kindergarten?
Research Hypotheses:
1- There is a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the children of the experimental group in the pre and post applications of the drug awareness scale in favor of the post application.
2- There is a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the children of the experimental group in the pre and post applications of the health habits scale in favor of the post application.
Research aims:
The aim of the search is to:
- Measuring the effectiveness of implementing an enrichment program in health education using behavior maps on developing drug awareness and health habits among pre-school children.
Research Importance:
Research may help:
1- Kindergarten teachers in implementing the content of the new curriculum (2.0) using behavior maps through the activities booklet.
2- Kindergarten guides in developing plans to develop pharmacological health awareness and health habits using the illustrated drug awareness scale and the illustrated health habits scale.
3- The new approach and the implementation of some windows using behavior maps.
4- Designers of Ministry of Health programs and media programmes.
5- Curriculum designers for kindergarten.
Search limits:
The current research adhered to the following limits:
1- Objective limits:
(A) The drug awareness scale included four dimensions (the efficacy and harm of the drug - the methods of taking the drug - the instructions for dealing with drugs - the misuse of the drug).
(B) The health habits scale included three areas (personal hygiene - healthy nutrition - disease prevention).
2- Spatial boundaries: Al-Batal Ali Othman Primary School Kindergarten in Sohag Governorate.
3- Temporal limits: the research experience was applied in the second semester of the year (2020/ 2021).
4- Human limits: Children of the second level in Kindergarten Al-Batal Ali Othman Primary School in Sohag.
Research Methodology:
The current research uses the experimental method (Pre-Post Test) for the pre- and post-measurement of measurement tools with a single-group design because it fits the nature of this research.
Teaching material and research tools:
The educational materials are:
An enrichment program in health education prepared using behavior maps and includes:
1) Activities booklet.
2) A guideline for the kindergarten teacher to implement the enrichment program according to the behavior maps.
Search tools:
1) Medication awareness scale (illustrated).
2) Healthy habits scale (illustrated).
Search variables:
- The Independent Variable: The Enrichment program using behavior maps.
Dependent Variables: Drug awareness, Health habits.
Search steps:
The current search proceeded according to the following steps:
1- Refer to the educational literature, research and previous studies that dealt with the subject of behavior maps, drug awareness and health habits to provide a theoretical framework on:

A- Behavior maps in terms of (their nature, importance and types) and their philosophical basis.
B- Medicinal awareness in terms of (its nature, importance, types and characteristics).
C - healthy habits in terms of (their nature and importance).
2- A list of the dimensions of drug awareness.
3- A list of healthy habits.
4- Preparing an enrichment program in health education using the behavior maps strategy.
5- Preparing the illustrated health habits scale.
6- Preparing the illustrated drug awareness scale.
7- Presenting research materials and tools to the arbitrators.
8- Implementation of the exploratory experiment to control research materials and tools.
9- selection of the research group (children of the second level in kindergarten, Dora Hall).
10- Pre-application of the pharmacological awareness scale.
11- Pre-application of the health habits scale.
12- Implementation of the enrichment program in health education using the behavior maps strategy.
13- Post application of the search tool to the research group.
14- Monitoring the results, statistically processing them and interpreting them
15- Providing recommendations and suggestions based on the results of the research.
Research Results :
The current search found:
1. There is a statistically significant difference between the average scores of the research group in the drug awareness scale before applying the enrichment program in health education using behavior maps and after it in favor of the post application.
2. The enrichment program in health education using behavior maps has a large impact size on the drug awareness scale as a whole and its four dimensions (the effectiveness and harms of medication - methods of taking medication - guidelines for dealing with medication - misuse of medication) respectively (3.573), (3.546), ( 3.554), (3,630).
3. The enrichment program in health education using behavior maps is effective in measuring pharmacological awareness among children of the second level of the research group, where the value of the adjusted gain in pharmacological awareness as a whole and its four dimensions, respectively, was (1.85) (1.63), (1.64), (1.88 ).
4. There is a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the research group in the health habits scale before applying the enrichment program in health education using behavior maps and after it in favor of the post application.
5. The enrichment program in health education using behavior maps has a significant impact on health habits as a whole and its three areas (personal hygiene - healthy nutrition - disease prevention) respectively (3.546), (3.544), (3.533).
6. The enrichment program in health education using behavior maps is effective in the health habits of children of the second level of the research group, where the value of the adjusted gain in healthy habits as a whole and its three areas, respectively (personal hygiene - healthy nutrition - disease prevention) respectively (1.72). ), (1.60), (1.76).
Recommendations:
In light of the research results, the following recommendations can be made:
1. Recommendations for Kindergarten Curricula:
- Avoiding the traditional methods based on recitation and memorization in teaching children and relying on the strategy of behavior maps in acquiring drug awareness and health habits.
- Presenting the behavior maps strategy and the teacher’s guide to the General Administration of Kindergarten at the Ministry of Education’s office for use in implementing a multidisciplinary curriculum for children of the second level in kindergarten.
2. Recommendations for kindergarten teachers:
-The necessity of encouraging kindergarten teachers to activate the behavior maps strategy in implementing kindergarten curricula.
- Holding workshops for kindergarten teachers on how to use the behavior maps strategy and employ it in the educational process.
3. Recommendations for Kindergarten Activities:
-Benefiting from the current research in re-planning the activities provided to the child in a way that makes them achieve the objectives of the new curriculum (2.0).
-The necessity of training children on different strategies such as behavior maps in order for them to achieve effective learning in line with their different tendencies, tendencies and abilities.
4. Recommendations for the Children’s Learning Assessment:
-The need to pay attention to the use of an innovative evaluation of various activities in drug awareness and health habits to measure children’s learning.
- The need to pay attention to the diversity of assessment methods provided to children to measure the impact of learning.
