Abstract
This chapter represents an introductory aspect of the physiographic characteristics of the study area ; the Kamaran Island and the Al Salif- Ras Harfa coastal area, Yemeni Red Sea (Figures 1.1 and 1.2 a, b). The chapter includes, as well, a brief survey on the previous related geological, sedimentlogical, environmental and natural resources studies that carried out on the Yemeni coastal area and islands as well as the nearby similar localities in the southern Red Sea. The aim of the study and the structure of the thesis are dealt with at the end of the chapter.
