Abstract

The present work focus on the interpretation of sequence stratigraphic units and their bounding surfaces, that develop at the same hierarchical level, based on the completion of the lithostratigraphy, biostratigraphy, petrophysics, and depositional environmental analysis for the late miocene-early pliocene Interval, that is penetrated throughout three studied wells, including: the NW Khilala-1X Well; the Disouq-2X Well; and the El Tayifah-1X Well within the Disouq Concession in the onshore part of the gas-rich Nile Delta region, Egypt (Fig. 1.1). In addition to, apply the graphic correlation techniques and foraminiferal taxonomy. The studied three wells lie in an area encompass two Natural Gas Fields (the NW Khilala; & Disouq natural gas fields) within the Disouq Concession (Longitude: 30° 46’ 57.491” - 31° 13’ 18.2” E & Latitude: 31° 05’ 40.8” - 31° 21’ 49.2” N). The Disouq Concession covers an onshore area of about 5,325 km2 (longitude: 30° 00’ 00” - 31° 19’ 00” E & latitude: 30° 54’ 00” - 31° 33’ 00” N), in the West Sub-Basin, across the Nile Delta Hinge Zone (in both the south delta platform and north delta platform), the gas-rich Nile Delta region, that related to Kafr El Sheikh Governorate, Egypt (Fig. 1.1).
