Abstract
In view of the fact that fixed dose combination (FDC) is one of the most
promising strategies to control hypertension, inclusion of FDC into nano-based carrier is a favourable trend. Hypertension is a serious chronic disease contributing to severe conditions like coronary heart disease, stroke and death. FDCs offered various
advantages for hypertension management including higher medication adherence,
avoidance of adverse effects related to single antihypertensive agents, obtaining additive and synergistic therapeutic effects and lowered cost. Remarkable efficacy,improved tolerability and better safety profile were reported upon using FDCs of
thiazide diuretics and angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs).
