Abstract

Recently, Photovoltaic (PV) technology has grown to solve problems related to conventional power plants. Based on the snapshot of the PV technology report in March 2021[1], the annual production growth of the PV technology increases rapidly is increased from 2010 to 2020, as shown in Fig.1.1, In 2020, the production data for the global cell production varied between 140 and 160GWand could exceed 200 GW in 2021. For 2021, market forecasts are considerably higher, which would bring the total cumulative installed PV capacity to more than 900 GW (Fig. 1.2). China currently has a cumulative installed capacity of more than 250 GW, representing roughly one third of the total global 775 GW installed PV capacity. The European Union (EU27) follows with about 18% or 138 GW and the USA with almost 95 GW (Fig. 1.2).
