Abstract This study aimed to evaluate thyroid function and thyroid hormonal profile in patients with polycystic ovarian syndrome. We carried a cross-sectional study with analytic components conducted on PCOS females at Outpatients of Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at Mansoura University Hospitals within the period from January 2019 till December 2019 after obtaining the approval from institutional review board (IRB). This study revealed the following results: • The majority of the studied cases were above the age of 20 (82.1%) with average age 26.22±5.50years old. • Most of the studied cases were overweight (>25) (85.5%) with average BMI of 28.37. • 35.8% of studied cases developed hirsutism, 64.2% had no hirsutism . • 84.9%of the studied cases developed oligamenorrhea while 15.1% developed amenorrhea. • As regards the thyroid function test, there were increases in, TSH and testosterone levels in some cases. • Cases demonstrated thyroid dysfunctions (8.5%), displayed Subclinical hypothyroidism. |
