Abstract The identification and treatment of sepsis continues to be a major health issue. Neonatal septicemia remains one of the main causes of mortality and morbidity despite the progress in hygiene, introduction of new and potent antimicrobial agents for treatment and advanced measures for diagnosis. The purpose of this work was to study factors that predict morbidity and mortality in neonates who are at high risk of neonatal sepsis . The primary objective was to investigate the role of Neonatal Acute Physiology II ( SNAP II ) score in predicting morbidity and mortality in neonates at high risk of neonatal sepsis .The Secondary Objective was to identify the variables associated with sepsis associated morbidity and mortality on neonates affected by early onset sepsis . |
