Abstract

This study was carried out during the two consecutive seasons of 2016 and 2017 on sixty uniform in vigour 12-years old superior grapevines grown in a private vineyard located at El-Makhadma village, Qena district, Qena governorate. where the soil texture is clay and well drained water since water table depth is not less than two meters.
The chosen vines are planted at 2.0 X 3.0 meters (as 700 vine / fed.). Winter pruning was carried out at the first week of Jan. during both seasons.
Cane pruning system was followed leaving 84 eyes / vine (on the 6 fruiting Canes X 12 eyes + 6 renewal spurs X 2 eyes)
The vines were irrigated through drip irrigation system using Nile water. Common horticultural Practices were carried out as usual the vines.
The main target of this study was examining the effect of spraying normal NPK and boron verus nano-fertilizers on some growth traits, nutritional status of the vines, yield and quality of superior grapes.
This study included the following ten treatments from concentrations of nano and normal NPK and boron in addition to the control:
11- Control
12- Spraying Nano-boron at 0.0025%
13- Spraying Nano-boron at 0.005%
14- Spraying Nano- boron at 0.01%
15- Spraying Normal- boron at 0.025%
16- Spraying Normal-boron at 0.05%
17- Spraying Normal-boron at 0.1%
18- Spraying Normal NPK at 0.5%
19- Spraying Nano NPK at 0.05%
20- Spraying Nano NPK at 0.1%
Each treatment was replicated three times, two vines per each (60 vines). Normal and Nano- system boron and NPK fertilizers were sprayed three times at growth start (first week of Mar.), Just after berry setting (first week of April.) and three weeks later (last week of April.). Triton B as wetting agent was applied at 00.05% to all solutions before spray. Control vines were sprayed with tap water containing Triton B at 0.05% spraying was done till run off.
The present experiment was set up in a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replicates each consisted from two vines per each.
During both seasons the following measurements were recorded.
1- Vegetative growth aspects namely (the main shoot length (cm), number of leaves per shoot, Leaf area (cm)2, wood ripening coefficient, wood pruning weight per vine ( kg.) and cane thickness (mm).
2- Leaf chemical components namely (chlorophylls a, b, total chlorophylls, total carotenoids (mg/g F.W.), N, P, K, MG and Ca (as %) and Zn, Fe, Mn and Cu ( as ppm)
3- Yield per vine expressed as number of cluster/ vine and weight (kg) as well as weight (g.), length and shoulder (cm) of cluster.
4- Percentage of shot berries.
5- Some physical and chemical characteristics of the berries including average berry weight (g.) average berry dimensions (longitudinal and equatorial) (cm), T.S.S.%., reducing sugars% and total acidity (expressed as tartaric acid/ 100 ml / juice)
The nearly obtained data during 2016 and 2017 seasons could be summarized under the following topics:
1- Vegetative growth characteristics:
The six growth traits namely the main shoot length, number of leaves shoot, leaf area , wood ripening coefficient, pruning wood weight per vine and cane thickness were remarkably stimulated due spraying boron and NPK via normal- system or nano technology- system comparing with the check treatment. Using boron or NPK via nano-technology was superior than using via normal- system. The promotion on these aspects was associated with increasing concentrations of the materials the best treatment in this connection included the application of NPK via nano- system at 0.1%
2- Leaf chemical composition:
An obvious promotion on the leaf content, all photosynthetic pigments namely (chlorophylls a, b total chlorophylls and total carotenoids), N, P, K, MG, Ca, Fe, Zn, Mn and Cu was observed due to spraying boron via normal- system at 0.025 to 0.1%, nanotechnology at 0.0025 to 0.01, NPK via normal at 0.5% and NPK via nano- system at 0.05 to 0.1%. Using the materials via nanotechnology was superior to via normal and spraying NPK via nano superior than boron via nano. The best results were obtained when applied with NPK via nano-system.
