Abstract

Placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) disorders are a major life-threatening obstetrical concern because of its elevated prevalence from 0.12 to 0.31 per cent over the last 30 years and the recorded mortality rate of about 7.0 per cent. It is also associated with significant maternal morbidity, including major blood transfusion, urinary tract injury, surgical removal of the uterus, admission to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), sepsis and prolonged hospital stay.
So this work aimed to evaluate the diagnostic potentials of the various MRI imaging sequences in detection of placenta accreta spectrum disorder with emphasis made on DWI.
A prospective cohort study was developed in which 30 pregnant women was examined from among cases of the Department Of Obstetrics And Gynecology In Minia University Hospital in the period from August 2019 to August 2020 at the Radiology Department at Minia University Hospitals, All patients was examined by ultrasound and MRI to make analysis of the role of US , MRI and MRI with DWI in diagnosis of placenta accrete spectrum disorder with special emphasis on the role of adding the DWI sequence.
from the 30 pregnant women that was examined 20 patients was diagnosed as placenta accrete spectrum disorder then it enable the obstetric department to get ready for the patient thus reducing the morbidity and mortality of both fetus and mother.
