Abstract
The current Study aimed to discuss the theoretical framework of global value chains (GVCs), as a current pattern of international trade patterns, and studied the development of this phenomenon and the world trend of this Participation. Moreover, the study discussed the determinants of different economies’ participation, Specially Developing and emerging ones, whereas the study classified these determinants to Institutional and Economic Determinants, and Other Determinants. Following Induction approach, the study analyzed the effect of participation of some developed and emerging economies in GVCs on development of exports of Textile and Garments, and Automotive industries in period of (2002-2017), as well as the effect of the participation on labor market and Environment. The study resulted to increasing positive relationship of participation of textiles and Garments industry (Through increasing exports of this industry) in emerging economies sample, and increasing positive relationship of participation of automotive industry of developed economies. Besides, the study resulted to unequal effects of participation of developed and emerging economies on Labor market and environment. Nevertheless, the study discussed the main determinants of Egypt participation in GVCs compared to some of other countries (Vietnam, Bangladesh, Morocco) and resulted to that the Egyptian Economy suffer from some shortages compare with these countries. The analysis of effect of Egypt participation in GVCs on development of exports Textile and Garment, Automotive industries in period of (2008-2017), the study resulted to limited positive effect to first industry participation and marginal effect to second industry. Following econometrics approach, by using Fixed Effects Model, the study tested the effect of GVCs Participation determinants and Economic upgrading of textile and Garment industry in asset of emerging countries in addition to Vietnam in period of (2005-2015), and the study resulted to positive relationship between both of them.
