Abstract

In this thesis, CdSe quantum dots has been synthesized through facile aqueous route without using inert gases in synthesis. This has been accomplished through using novel binary mixture of Thioglycolic acid and trisodium citrate. The temporal evolution of the optical and physical properties has been study through refluxing process at temperature 90°C. the effect of CdSe quantum dots on improving the photocatalytic properties of ZnO nanoparticles and graphitic carbon nitride nanosheets. The fabricated photocatalysts have been examined in the photodegradation of Rhodamine B dye under different light sources. The morphology and the structure of the prepared materials have been studied by XRD, DRS. HRTEM, XPS and PL techniques.
