Abstract N ursing schools are the basic and fundamental stone of the nursing education profession. Problem based learning is soon to become the dominant form of education in the world. A lot of effort is being devoted into furthering the work methods and communication among nursing students. Moreover, further development of nursing education in the future will depend on the advance of technologies and the Internet (Basavanthappa, 2013). The problem based learning is a student- centred learning. The student- centred learning refers to learning opportunities that are relevant to the students and the goals of which are at least partly determined by the students themselves. This does mean that the teacher abdicates her authority for making judgment regarding what might be important for students to learn (Loyens et al., 2014). Aim of the study: The present study aimed to assess the effect of problem based learning versus traditional method of learning at nursing schools through the following: 1- Assess knowledge and attitude of the nursing students regarding the problem based learning versus the traditional learning. 2-Designing and implement problem based learning module. 3-Evaluate the effect of the problem based learning module on the nursing students. Hypothesis The problem based learning is more motivating and stimulating to pediatric nursing students versus traditional method. I- Technical Design The technical design for the study includes research design, setting of the study, subject, and tools for data collection. Research Design: A quasi-experimental design was used to conduct this study. Research Settings: The study was conducted at two Secondary Nursing Schools Affiliated to the Health Insurance Organization (HIO) in Qalyoubiah Governate . These are El-Nile and Benha Nursing Schools. These schools were chosen as they are the only nursing schools in Qalyoubiah Branch for HIO. |
