Abstract

It was studied the protective role of turmeric, ginger and n-acetylcysteine on heat stress and the experiment was in the form of 4 groups: control, turmeric powder (5g/kg diet), ginger powder (7.5 g/kg diet) and and n-acetylcysteine (100mg/Kg diet). These groups were allocated in thermoneutral (22 ± 4 °C) and heat stress (34 ± 2 °C) conditions. It was evaluated clinical symptoms, growth performance, hematological indices, lipid profile, serum glucose, liver and kidney function tests, MDA, SOD, T3, T4, CORT hormones, HSP70 and HSP90. The results showed the negative effect of heat stress and it was improved through the addition of turmeric, ginger and n-acetylcysteine.
