Abstract

This study was carried out during the two consecutive seasons of 2014 and 2015 seasons on fifty-seven uniform in vigour own-rooted 18-years old Red Roomy grapevines grown in a private vineyard located at Salah El-Deen Village, Minia district, Minia Governorate where the soil texture is silty clay and well drained water since water table depth is not less than two meters. The chosen vines are planted at 2 x 2 meters apart. Head pruning system was followed at the first week of Jan. leaving 72 eyes per vine (on the basis of 20 fruiting spurs x 3 eyes plus six replacement spurs x two eyes). The vines were irrigated through surface irrigation system.
This study was designed to highlight the important effect of using EM, humic acid, algae extract, compost and Minia azotene biofertilizer as a partial replacement of inorganic N fertilizers on fruiting of Red Roomy grapevines. selecting the best organic and biostimulants that applied as a partial substitute is considered another target.
For saving 40%-60% of inorganic N costs and at the same time protecting our environment from both nitrate and nitrite pollution and improving the production of Red Roomy grapevines grown under Minia region condition, it is advised to fertilize the vines with N (80 g N/vine/tree) as 60% inorganic N +50 ml EM/vine. However, for promoting quality of the berries, it is preferable for using N as 40% inorganic N plus 75ml EM/vine. Inorganic N was added at three unequal batches. EM was added once at growth start.
