Abstract The present thesis comprises six chapters. The first one includes an introduction showing importance and aim of research and definition of a study area as its location, extends and depth. The second chapter contains a geological study of an area under investigation and oil pollution types and its possible sources and how to use remote sensing techniques in detecting oil spills. The third chapter comprises the area at which sampling has been done along two profiles(onshore and offshore) and extends along gulf of suez coastal zone from port tawfeek to el ain sokhna port and subdivided into four sectors are Port tawfeek, El kabanon, El attaka and El ain Sokhna, with devices and methods used in the study. The fourth chapter contains the results of sample analyses which contain physical analysis such as T, PH, salinity, and DO, also inorganic analysis such as major ions, and some heavy metals such as( ZN, Pb, Cu, and Fe) and finally organic parameters such as (TOC, DDPHS, UVA254, oil & grease and glowing loss ) and using remote sensing techniques to enhance the oil pollution. The fifth chapter contains summary and conclusion. The last chapter contains ninety-five references. |
