Abstract Water is becoming a potentially reducing element for industrial and agricultural developments. Reduction of both consumption of freshwater and discharge of wastewater can be obtained significantly when reuse wastewater is introduced in the water-using networks design. On the analogy of the multi contaminant water-using networks, we will present a heuristic technique: the concentration potentials demand streams in the water using systems with multiple contaminants, based on the possibility of overall allocation of the source streams to the demand streams. In this research, a cascade diagram introduced to calculate concentration potential demand and order the processes which take water firstly. The processes which have lowest inlet concentration potential will be performed first. Satisfying the demand by reuse waste water then the process takes fresh water. The results clear that the proposed method in this work is very simple and the fresh water consumptions of the obtained designs are too close to the targets of minimum fresh water. This research contains a reference to the research for water systems used to reduce water losses in industry which based on different techniques, comparison between them and our Heuristic method to clear the advantages and disadvantages. |
