Abstract
we can come to the conclusion that UTI may occur in jaundiced newborns. Points to be considered are: Maternal infections should be properly investigated and treated to prevent UTI in newborns and its complications (jaundice), testing for UTI should be a part of the diagnostic evaluation of neonates with unexplained jaundice (when other causes are excluded), investigating UTI as a cause of significant hyperbilirubinemia.
