Abstract HBV infection is an occupational hazard of medical and paramedical personnel, so to better target prevention efforts; information on the burden caused by occupational transmissions would be useful. This study was a cross-sectional descriptive study, included health care workers in Suez Canal University Hospital, including doctors (physicians, surgeons), nurses, paramedical personnel (laboratory technicians, physiotherapists, and radiographers), helpers, medical waste handlers (Service), and others who are not involved directly in patients care (dietary, incinerator and laundry workers). A stratified random sample had been drawn by health care worker cadre (stratum), based on these 6 categories. |
