Abstract This experiment was carried out at the farm of Royal Herbs Company - Bahariya Oasis - Giza in a newly reclaimed desert land under the drip irrigation system during two successive seasons 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 with the aim of studying the effect of organic fertilizer (compost) and bio-fertilization treatments (Phosphorein – Effective microorganisms - Minia azoteine and their combinations) and the effect of their interaction on vegetative growth (plant height, stem diameter, number of main and secondary branches/plant and dry weight of herb/plant), yield and yield components (number of umbels/plant and number of umbellules/umbel, weight of 1000 fruits and fruit yield per plant and per fed.), oil production (essential oil % and oil yield per plant and per fed.) and some chemical compounds, namely, pigments (chlorophyll a, b and carotenoids) and nutrients percentage (N, P and K %) on fennel plants. The obtained results indicated that the application of compost and bio-fertilizers individually or in combinations were significantly increased all studied parameters and the best treatment was 20 ton/fed. in combination with (Phosphorein – Effective microorganisms - Minia azoteine) followed by 15 ton/fed. plus (Phosphorein – Effective microorganisms - Minia azoteine) treatment. |
