Abstract

Thesis Objective
The objectives of the thesis are as follows:
-Improving Ultrasound Elastography Imaging by using a proposed matching layer between transducer and patient.
-Study the effect of this new material by using it in classification systems (the artificial neural network (ANN), support vector machine (SVM) and the K-nearest neighbour (KNN)).
1.4. Thesis Organization
This thesis is organized in six chapters as follows:
• The first chapter “Introduction” overviews the motivation, the problem definition, thesis objective, and its organization.
• The second chapter “ultrasound and Medical Background” overviews, brief discus of fundamental of ultrasound and overviews elastography techniques, brief discus of anatomy, types of breast cancer, imaging techniques, and staging.
• The third chapter “Linseed oil material” overviews, and briefly discuss the linseed oil material and its benefits.

• The fourth chapter “Methodology” presents the usage of the acoustic matching material between the ultrasound transducer and the diagnosed soft tissue is presented. And proposes the database used in this study, the applied techniques, features extraction, and classification.
• The fifth chapter “Result and Discussion” gives the achieved the effect on different factor of image quality, and the accuracies
