Abstract

hazardous to them compared with Na+) on the ion exchange with Na+ in water. The ion exchange process was also applied on a lab-scale for the cultivation of two crops to reduce the sodicity of natural saline well water. The obtained results can be summarized as follow: 1. characterization of aluminosilicate samples. 2. Modification of some natural aluminosilicates by homo-ionization technique 3. Analysis of metal concentration 4. Adsorption studies:- 5. Batch-mode adsorption technique 6. Study of factors that affecting the adsorption process (initial concentrations, contact time and temperature). 7. Column technique 8. Application of optimum parameters for the removal of sodium ions from the saline samples. 9. Agriculture experiment for wheat and faba bean plants. 10. XRF study supported that the ion exchangeable cations Na, Mg and Ca may offer CEC of 277 mEq per 100 g for UnF. 11. The total cation exchange capacity (CEC) including possible water soluble salts of UnK, UnB, UnC and UnF were (16.67, 236.58, 317.06 and 400.7) and (35.28, 117.10, 156.50, 474.1)mEq per100 g as obtained from the homo-ionization treatment with NH4Cl and KCl, respectiely.
