Abstract The current study aimed to investigate the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory potential activities of the isolated Ulva lactuca, and Sponge samples (Hyrtios aff Erectus bioactive actinobacteria strains, In addition to investigate its pharmaceutical activities against pathogenic Candida Albicans. The bioactive actinobacteria strains were isolated from green algae Ulva lactuca collected from Mediterranean Sea coast, Alexandria, Egypt and (Hyrtios aff Erectus sponge from the Red sea. The isolated actinobacterium strains were identified by morphological, physiological and biochemical assessments as Streptomyces canaries and Streptomyces vinaceusdrappus. The results showed highly anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activities of isolated actinobacteria compared to Vitamin C as a standard drug. Also, great activities of Streptomyces canarius extract against Candida were confirmed compared with nystatin antibiotics as antimycotic standard drug. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study on Streptomyces canarius isolated from Ulva lactuca and sponge and investigated their activity against Candida as well as its properties as antioxidant and anti-inflammatory.
