Abstract Most of the observation in this study are accompioned by data which are presented in forms of tables, plates and bar charts. To achieve this goal the following points were performed: A total of 300 samples from apparently healthy chickens were collected in this study. These samples represented as 100 samples from trachea, 100 sample from lung and 100 sample from heart. The identification of P. multocida in chicken were done according to morphological and biochemical examination. The incidence of P. multocida by cultural examination was 21 (7%). 0% from tracheal swabs, 13% from lung and 8% from heart while an percentage by biochemical examination was 6 (28.6%) . 0% from tracheal swabs , 23.1% from lung and 37.5% from heart.. According to the result of the drug sensitivity test mentioned that P. multocida was sensitive to ciprofloxacin, norfloxacin and spectinomycin but it was resistant to erythromycin and flucloxacillin.. Six suspected isolates of P.multocida identified by biochemical examination were tested by polymerase chain reaction method by using specific primers for P.multocida . Five isolates were of type A and amplified at 1044bp. |
