Abstract

Owing to the importance of solar energy studies and its modeling, this thesis provides two models of daily solar energy and corresponding maximum temperature in Queensland, Australia over a year. This work aims to find two new algorithms that computes the parameters of Weibull and three-parameter log-logistic distributions easily and accurately. The first estimator is nested percentiles algorithm which is suggested for estimating the shape and the scale parameters of Weibull distribution. Regarding the second suggested estimation method, algorithm of percentiles roots is created to calculate the three parameters of log-logistic distribution, shape, scale, and location parameters. Their effectiveness is tested by the Anderson-Darling test which concludes that they give high significant results. They also provide the best fit of the used datasets over than other results produced by EasyFit program.
