Abstract

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) includes a range ranging from simple fatty liver to fatty hepatitis (NASH) and cirrhosis When everything is said to predominate in population figures done for NAFLD is believed to be about 10-24% overall Material and Methods Experimental animal design: The study was carried on 40 female Sprague–Dawley rats (body weight 200–250 g). Spirulina powder was orally given to induced fatty liver disease used dose (300mg/kg. body weight). It dissolved with distal water (100ml/kg)and administrated by oral gavage Study Design The animal divided for 4 groups: Negative Control Group, This group was consisted of ten rats and were fed on basal diet • Positive control Group,This group was consisted of ten rats and were fed on high fat diet(Table I) NFD/SP Group, This group was was consisted of ten rats and were received orally spirulina platensis(300mg/kg) dissolved in distal water (100ml/kg) with normal diet • HFD/SP group ,This group was consisted of ten rats and orally spirulina platensis(300mg/kg) dissolved in distal water (100ml/kg) with high fat diet. At the end of the experiment period for4 weeks, rats anesthetized by using diethyl ether and samples of blood were withdrawn from retro-orbital plexus and collected in separation tubes, then the liver was collected from each rat, assay the following parameters: • MD • Serum albumin Serum total and direct bilirubin Serum triacylglycerol • Serum Cholesterol HDLc, LDLc & VLDLC Le • Antioxidants Markers GSHGene Ethe results of the present study demonstrate the ability of treatment with spirulina platensis to ameliorate Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease induced in rats by anti-oxidative activity and improvements of Liver function enzyme (ALT& AST), Lipid profile tests. Further investigations, therefore, are warranted to clarify the exact mechanisms underlying the effects of the spirulina platensis expression We recomend in case of fatty liver to give rats Spirulina platensis at dose300mg/ kg die.
