The research section is divided into five chapters, in addition to an introduction, conclusion and appendices as follows:Chapter I: ”Cities and their fortifications during the Crusades” In this chapter, the geographical situation of the Islamic East region was discussed, as well as the definition of the most important cities, whether internal or coastal, and then the fortifications of these cities such as Moat, Walls, Towers and Gates, as well as focus on the Castle for its military importance .Chapter II: ”Siege Weapons and Tools of Combat During the Crusader Islamic Conflict” This chapter is divided into two main sections, Section I deals with individual weapons, whether defensive or offensive. Section II deals with collective weapons and siege machines. In addition to the means of protection and defense, and finally types of warships.In the third chapter: ”Cities between the besieged and their defenders” was addressed preparations to face the siege and means of defense, as well as the preparations made by the attackers to impose the siege.Chapter IV: ”Military Operations and Siege of Inner Cities” deals with methods and methods of fighting, as well as the study of various military tricks such as deception and camouflage and psychological warfare and the use of agents and traitors and tactical withdrawal. With the study of some military operations around some of the cities inland.Finally, the fifth chapter: ”Military operations and the siege of coastal cities”, which dealt with the role of the fleet in the operations of siege and city wars, especially the logistics of the besieged cities, as well as military tactics and fighting tricks such as deception, treason, espionage, psychological warfare and others. Some military operations were also studied on the most important coastal cities during the Crusader-Islamic conflict.The search ends with a conclusion containing the most important results of the search. With a set of maps, images and illustrations, and finally a list of sources and references that were relied upon in the preparation of the study.
