Abstract
Summary This study was carried out on 52 patients who suffered from minor stroke or TIA between the age of 18-50 years who attended to department of neuropsychiatry and center of psychiatry, neurology and neurosurgery, Tanta university Hospitals in the period between April 2019 to September 2019. Patients with previous ischemic stroke and (mRS) score < 3 were excluded from this study. The aim of the work was to assess the possible etiologies and early outcome of minor stroke and TIA in patients between the age of 18-50 years. All admitted patients were subjected to: History taking included the personal history and risk factors. Thorough neurological examination including evaluation by NIHSS and ABCD3-1 score. Routine laboratory investigations including ESR, CRP, liver functions, renal functions, , blood picture and Triglycerides Specific laboratory investigations including ANA, antidouble strand DNA, anticardiolipin antibodies, lupus anticoagulant, antiphospholipid antibodies and thrombophilia testing according to each subject individually. Radiological studies including non contrast CT brain scan and MRI brain ,other radiological studies were ordered according to each subject individually as CT angiogram,
