Abstract The present study aimed to study pattern of FPD among married women in an Egyptian rural community ( BFP clinic) throughout 5 years. Records of years 2014 to end of 2018 were examined to determine discontinuity rate and identify reasons of discontinuity every year. To determine factors affecting FPD, a cross section hospital based study on a sample of 400 FP users was conducted during 2019.Then a nested case control analytic study was performed .Results were presented in tables and figures. Record examination in the present study showed annual FPD rate fluctuating between 6% and 9% of FP users through years 2014 till 2018 except in 2017 it increased to more than 13%. But in 2019 the cross section study showed 26.5% discontinuity rate. Regarding discontinuity Rates of different FP methods used by women in BFHC during years 2014 -2018 the injectables users recorded higher discontinuity rates in most years of the study (fluctuated between 13.3% and 41%) especially in year2017. Followed by IUDs (between 0.65% and 19.4%), While Pills users showed relatively the lower rates (between 0,3% and 4.01%) throughout all years of the study. |
