Abstract

In the past few decades various artificial reproductive techniques (ART) have been developed raising the hopes of infertile couples. However, many couples still have remained without success despite of these procedures.
Success in ART treatment programs, as measured by pregnancy rate (CPR) depends on different factors. The major factors are embryo quality andendometrial receptivity
Recurrent implantation failure (RIF) is determined when the transferred embryos fail to implant following repeated in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment cycles. However, there are no definite criteria identifying the number of failed cycles or the total number of embryos transferred in these attempts. Accordingly, fertility centers practicing IVF may use different definitions for RIF. Therefore, treatment of RIF should target the abnormality detected, and correct any potential malfunction that might contribute to implantation failure.
Several studies postulated that inducing local endometrial injury improves implantation and consequently rises the success of IVF/ICSI in the form of higher pregnancy rate.
The aim of this study was to assess the effect of hysteroscopic transverse fundal incision before intracytoplasmic sperm injection cycle on the pregnancy rate.
This study was conducted on 40 infertile patients with failed ICSI cycle at least once an
