Abstract

Background: Infertility is defined by the International Committee for Monitoring Assisted Reproductive Technology and the World Health Organization as ” a reproductive system disease described as the inability to achieve a clinical pregnancy after 12 months or more of regular unprotected sexual intercourse.” AimoftheWork:Toevaluatethevalueofendometrialscratchinjury(ESI)onclinicalpregnancyrateinwomenundergoingintrauterineinsemination(IUI)withovarianstimulationforunexplainedinfertility.PatientsandMethods:During the period from April 2016 to October 2018 , the current randomized controlled clinical trial was performed at Ain Shams University Maternity Hospital (IVF unit). A total of 166 women with unexplained infertility and assigned for IUI with clomiphene citrate ovarian stimulation were assessed to be eligible for the study. Of these 20 were excluded from the study, 8 did not meet the inclusion criteria (age more than 35 years), and 10 and10 were excluded for other reasons(the presence of sub-mucous myomas deforming the uterine cavity ,poor semen analysis). The research was rejected by two women. Results: This study found that endometrial scratch injury promotes embryo implantation and eventual pregnancy and improves the clinical pregnancy rate for patients with unexplained infertility assigned for intra-uterine insemination (IUI) with ovarian stimulation. Conclusion: In the current study, data analysis showed that endometrial scratch injury promotes embryo implantation and eventual pregnancy and improves the clinical pregnancy rate for patients with unexplained infertility assigned for intra-uterine insemination (IUI) with ovarian stimulation.
