Abstract Background: Tibial plateau are complex intra-articular fractures that are considered challenging to a lot of orthopedic surgeons. Objective: Management of tibial plateau fractures is to reach the best functional outcome with minimum complications. Methods: We searched the MED LINE database, PubMed, Cochrane Bone and Muscle Trauma group Specialized Register, Cochrane Register of Controlled Trails (The Cochrane Library). Data were extracted using the following keywords: Arthroscopic, Clinical, Fracture, Outcome, Radiological, Systematic review, Tibial plateau. Results: ORIF has been the standard technique in management of tibial plateau fractures, ARIF was introduced in the past 20 years but didn’t get the expected popularity yet it is a minimally invasive technique providing a better visual access intraoperative for reduction, that’s mainly because it is limited to less severe types of tibial plateau fractures as schatzker types1-3 with some debate about type 4. Conclusion: Our study concluded that with more level I evidence studies ARIF is an excellent option for management of tibial plateau fractures. |
