Abstract It is concluded that herd and year of calving were important factors affecting the studied traits, while season of calving was not important factor in terms of their effects on the studied traits. Heritability estimates ranged between low values for total number of parities to high value observed for total lifetime milk production. Genetic correlations ranged between negative and low value (between calving interval and total number of parties) and high and positive value (between total lifetime milk yield and total lifetime lactation period). Phenotypic correlation were all positive, ranging between low (between total number of parities and adjusted milk yield) to high (between total lifetime milk yield and total lifetime lactation period) values. The genetic trends of animals and dam breeding value were insignificant for all studied traits indicating that the programs of selection was not applied for these population. In current study, the animal genetic trend was positive for all traits except AFC. |
