Abstract Uterine fibroids are the commonest benign uterine tumors, with an estimated incidence of 20%–40% in women during their reproductive years. Aim: assess the effect of uterine fibroid on their women’s life and to evaluate the effect of nursing management program for women’s undergoing hysterectomy. Design: Descriptive and a quasi-experimental were adopted. Setting: the study was conducted at Gynecological outpatient clinic and department at Zagazig University Hospital. Subjects: 285 females with UF were recruited for estimating average health related quality of life (HRQOL) and 50 females undergoing hysterectomy was chose for the program. Tool of data collection: A structured interview questionnaire, scale of HRQOL, the nursing program was evaluated and follows up scale of HRQOL after 3 month of the program. Results: negative impact of HRQOL, significant improvement in the study group after application of the program and follow up after 3 month showed HRQOL was improved except sexual function. Conclusion: Fibroids impact negatively women’s health and quality of life Recommendation: Women should be provided with simple information (through brochures and booklets) that can consist of health education about UF and hysterectomy.
