Abstract The most common pediatric posterior fossa neoplasms are the pilocytic astrocytoma, medulloblastoma and ependymoma.Diffusion MR imaging is a technique in which dedicated phasedefocusing and -refocusing gradients allow evaluation of microscopic water diffusion within tissues, where calculated apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) maps represent an absolute measure of average diffusion for each voxel The current study included 30 patients; 10 of them were males while 20 were females. The age of our selected patents ranged from 3 to 16 years with a mean of 8.7 years, most of them were in age group 5 -<10 years representing 46.66%.Regarding tothe complaint of the patient, many patient suffering from more than one complain, 66.6% of patient were complaining of headache, 70% patients were complaining from vomiting, 76.6% were complaining from visual symptoms, 10% of patient complaining from increase head circumference, 23.3% were complaining from Brain stem symptoms and 83.3% were complaining from cerebellar symptoms According to our study histopathological examination, patients with medulloblastoma(MB) (WHO grade IV) 33.3%, patients with pilocytic astrocytoma (PA) (WHO grade I) 26.7%,two patients with ependymoma(EPN) (WHO grade III) 40%. |
