Abstract

Aceclofenac is a potent non-steroidal analgesic drug; Aceclofenac was evolved as an analog of a commonly prescribed NSAID, Diclofenac, via chemical modification at 1991, used for treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, a verity of other acute and chronic musculoskeletal disorders and mild to moderate pain, the drug acts as anti-inflammatory by suppressing prostaglandin synthesis. The oral administration of Aceclofenac associated with high risk of adverse effect such as irritation, ulceration and bleeding of gastrointestinal tract as well as peptic ulceration, and has according to BCS, it belong to class II drugs that has low aqueous solubility. These attributes make Aceclofenac a good candidate for improving its solubility meanwhile eliminating ulcerogenicity associated with its use.Our research aims to the improvement the dissolution rate of Aceclofenac and minimizing the ulcerogenic effect of the drug by preventing its direct contact with gastric mucosa by coating with pH dependent and time dependent protective polymers.
