Abstract This study aimed to investigate the effect of using an integrated literature teaching approach on developing EFL preparatory stage language schools pupils’ literature reading skills and their attitude towards literature. The research design that was adopted for the present study was the quasi-experimental design. The participants of the study consisted of 60 second year preparatory stage language schools’ pupils. They were two intact groups, experimental and control. Instruments of the study were a questionnaire to determine the literature reading skills required for second year prep stage language schools pupils, a post literature reading skills test, a rubric for scoring it and a pre/post attitude scale towards literature. Results proved the effectiveness of the suggested approach in developing EFL second year preparatory stage language schools pupils’ literature reading skills and their attitude towards literature. |
