Abstract

This research studied urban floods and types of flood like river floods, pluvial floods, coastal floods, groundwater floods and the failure of artificial water systems. It also studied its impact on people and urban area. It also discussed integrated flood risk management which aims to reduce the impact of flood. It consists of structural and nonstructural measures:-  Structural measures like flood water Conveyance, flood storage, drainage systems, infiltration and permeability of urban areas, building design and barrier systems for flood protection.  Nonstructural measures like early warning systems, flood emergency preparedness activities, emergency planning, flood awareness campaigns, health planning and awareness campaigns, land use planning and flood zoning and flood insurance. The study case was a site called ( BADYA) is located in the city of 6 October, ’6th of October City’ is a city in Giza Governorate, part of the urban area of Cairo, Egypt, 32 km (20 miles) outside the city. This area is 3000 feddan, located on the southwestern edge of 6th of October City. It is bound by regional road network, Close to industrial areas located north of El Wahat Road, and has strategic location near pyramids. The rain data was calculated and this water was discharged to the nearest landscape to infiltrate the water to the underground.
