Abstract

This thesis deals with synthesis of novel α-aminophosphonate
derivatives bearing quinoline moiety starting from commercially
available aldehyde, aminoquionlines and phosphites. The formation of the
key 4-aminoquinolines 3 needed for this study was achieved by reaction
of 4,7-dichloroquinoline 1 with commercially available aliphatic and
aromatic diamines 2 in presence of base as shown in Scheme 1 The three one-pot synthesis of unexpected cyclic α-aminophosphonates
bearing quinoline moiety was accomplished in good yields using 4-
aminoquinolines 3, glutaraldehyde 4, diphenyl phosphite 5 dissolved in
acetonitrile in presence of LiClO4 as a Lewis acid catalyst.
