Abstract

The current study deal with the fig wasp fauna associated with F. nitida in three cities in Qalyubia Governorate, Egypt, during the period from September 2013 to August 2016. The study focused on the complex interactions among pollinator, non-pollinators fig wasps, and syconium quality. Moreover, the effects of climatic factors and predaceous arthropods were also investigated (as abiotic and biotic factors, respectively) in this relationship. 1. The seasonal abundance of fig wasps associated with Ficus nitida:1.1. PFW density: Densities of the PFW Eupristina varied greatly according to the season. The highest density of both sexes recorded during the summer season and reached its highest significant level in July. The total mean of both females and males during this month in the three cites was 35.5 and 6.45/syconium, respectively with sex ratio 1:5.5 (male: female). The lowest significant value of PFW was observed in the winter season and reached its lowest level in January for both females and males (0.5 and 0.1/ syconium, respectively) and sex ratio 1:3.6 (male: female).
